If people could comment with stuff I've missed, that would be great.

And, of course, the ultimate badfic. The one, the only Maurice and Alec in America, a preview of which can be found here.

haha the ultimate bad fic
I just noticed that. Very nicely put.July 31 2007, 23:41:27 UTC 4 years ago
Re: haha the ultimate bad fic
Thanks! And it really is. I hate published fanfic. It goes against the spirit of the thing. There's been precisely...one, out of God knows how many, that I've even remotely liked.July 31 2007, 23:52:40 UTC 4 years ago
Re: haha the ultimate bad fic
yeah I really don't understand published fanfiction either. From what I could stand to read of "Maurice and Alec in America" the author completely goes against what "Maurice," stands for. I don't know if you saw my post about it a couple weeks ago, but it really sent me off the deep end. I think I scared the hell out of my mother. No good ever comes out of published fanfiction.

Re: haha the ultimate bad fic
Yup. The beauty of fanfic is that it truly is a labour of love - even the worst, least edited piece of crap is done because the author wanted to do it, rather than for the cash.I haven't read it, but I can certainly understand why you got so angry. I once read a sequel to Brideshead Revisited where Rex raped Julia, a sequel to Emma where Emma decided (after marrying him) that she didn't really love Mr Knightley after all and started having affairs and a sequel to Pride and Prejudice where Bingley cheated on Jane. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, if you'd like to visit pemberley.com where they keep a list of Jane Austen sequels.

Re: haha the ultimate bad fic
That Emma sequel sounds awful, and bingley cheating on Jane? what? ugh its all too terrible for words.August 1 2007, 01:49:10 UTC 4 years ago
bookburning
Now I don't like book burning (only nazis and weird people quoting God seem to do that) but if I had to burn a book it would be Maurice and Alec in America. And Oh my god my neighbor is still singing in the middle of the night and does he not have a job to go to in the morning. (I don't it's my vac) He can't even sing!

Re: bookburning
its a book that never should have been.*grr* thinking about it makes my blood boil.Wow a singing neighbor. That must be just a little bit annoying.

Re: bookburning
There's something awful about burning a book. Throwing it away I can just about live with, but burning a book even accidentally makes me feel sick.August 5 2007, 18:25:24 UTC 4 years ago
Re: bookburning
Yes but if... IF you HAD to do it... like if you didn't you would get killed proper like... then wouldn't you burn Maurice and Alec in America? I know I would. They didn't even have to threaten to kill me just push me like a little bit. (My language is becoming a mite western-like from watching and reading too much Firefly. Gorramit!)August 5 2007, 20:03:50 UTC 4 years ago
Re: bookburning
I'd probably burn a lot of things if I had to do it. I just wouldn't enjoy it.August 5 2007, 18:19:07 UTC 4 years ago

A few new ones
looks like there are a few more to add including the one I just wrote. Hopefully the list will continue to expand! One can never have enough Maurice fanfiction to read.=)
